Installation Method of Ceramic Pall Ring Packing — Selecting Specifications

During ceramic packing installation, products of different specifications shall be loaded in different ways.

For sizes below 80 mm:Ceramic Pall rings are loaded into the tower packing layer by random packing. Random packing means the ceramic Pall ring packing is laid irregularly and evenly in the packing layer.

For sizes above 80 mm:Both neat stacking and random packing can be used. Neat stacking is usually adopted for large-size ceramic Pall rings, which are stacked one by one neatly inside the packed tower.

Whichever loading method is used, ceramic Pall rings can be slid into the packing layer through the manhole or a cloth bag, which can effectively prevent breakage caused by falling. Meanwhile, during random packing, the packing layer should be leveled as much as possible.

Service Life and Replacement Cycle of Ceramic Pall Rings

Under normal conditions, ceramic Pall ring packing loaded in a packed tower has stable performance. As long as the ceramic Pall rings meet industrial ceramic standards, their normal service life is more than 5 years.

Service life and replacement cycle vary with different working environments. The longest service life can be 8–10 years before replacement. However, in actual production, the packing should be replaced according to production standards, based on actual operation requirements.
