High Crush Strength Inert Alumina Ceramic Ball As Catalyst Support Media

Inert alumina balls feature high strength, high chemical stability, low water absorption and excellent thermal stability. They can resist high temperature, high pressure, and corrosion from acids, alkalis, salts and various organic solvents, and withstand temperature changes encountered in production.

Inert alumina balls feature high strength, high chemical stability, low water absorption and excellent thermal stability. They can resist high temperature, high pressure, and corrosion from acids, alkalis, salts and various organic solvents, and withstand temperature changes encountered in production.

They are widely used in petroleum, chemical, fertilizer, natural gas, environmental protection and other industries as catalyst support and covering media inside reactors. They can buffer the impact of liquid and gas entering the reactor on the catalyst, support and protect active catalysts with relatively low strength, and improve the distribution of liquid and gas in the reactor.

Inert alumina balls have many names. According to their function, they can be called packing balls or support balls; according to their chemical properties, they are called inert ceramic balls; and according to their chemical composition, they are known as alumina ceramic balls. Whatever the name, they all take advantage of the properties of inert alumina balls: good strength, high hardness, excellent wear resistance, good heat resistance and low chemical reactivity.

Inert alumina balls are manufactured with alumina powder as the main raw material and fired at high temperature.According to alumina content, they are classified into different materials such as feldspar type, feldsparmullite type, mullite type, mullitecorundum type, and corundum type. The formulation is adjusted according to customers’ different design requirements. Generally, industrial alumina is used for highalumina balls, while chemical ceramic clay is used as raw material for lowalumina balls.
