High Alumina Al2o3 Alumina Micro Beads / Ceramic Grinding Balls
The performance of alumina grinding balls is determined by their alumina content (purity). Different purity levels correspond to different application scenarios, and their suitability for ultra-fine grinding is also classified accordingly. High-purity alumina balls (92% Al₂O₃ and above, especially 95% and 99% grades): Fully suitable for ultra-fine grinding. This type of grinding ball features extremely high hardness (Mohs hardness ≥ 9) and an ultra-low wear rate, ensuring no contamination to the ground materials. It can grind materials down to the micron level (e.g., 1–10 μm) or even submicron level. It is commonly used in fields with stringent requirements for fineness and purity, such as ceramic glazes and lithium battery cathode/anode materials. Medium-to-low purity alumina balls (75%–90% Al₂O₃): Partially suitable for relatively coarse ultra-fine grinding, but not applicable to scenarios with extremely high requirements. Their hardness and wear resistance are slightly inferior to those of high-purity products, and trace impurities may be generated during long-term grinding. They can be used for materials with less demanding purity requirements, such as pigments and cement, with a typical target fineness of 10–50 μm. Particle size of the grinding balls themselves: Must be matched to the initial particle size of the material. When grinding ultra-fine materials, small-diameter grinding balls (e.g., Φ1–5 mm) should be selected to increase the contact area and improve grinding efficiency. Using large-diameter balls to grind fine materials will not only result in low efficiency but may also damage the material structure due to excessive impact force.
